Meet Jennifer
Jennifer spent a decade as a Civil Engineer followed by over a decade working for non-profits to craft, pass and implement state and local environmental policies. She served on the Roeland Park City Council and has served in countless local sustainability leadership positions. Jennifer knows infrastructure, she knows policy, she knows public service – Jennifer has the experience and leadership to help keep the taps flowing with WaterOne’s safe, reliable, affordable drinking water.
Jennifer has been drinking WaterOne’s water for over 40 years. She grew up in Roeland Park, spending K-12 in the Shawnee Mission School District and graduating from Shawnee Mission North. Following graduation from the University of Kansas with a BS in Civil Engineering and a BS in Business Administration, she returned to Johnson County and soon bought her first home in Roeland Park blocks from where she grew up. Active in the community and in the city, she gave public service a try and was elected to the Roeland Park City Council in 2011. After her term ended, Jennifer moved to Shawnee with her husband John, where they continue remodeling, and re-remodeling, their home. Jennifer, John and their two wonderful kids love their neighborhood and how much activity there is in walking distance.
Professionally, Jennifer spent a decade as a civil engineer, working for an engineering consulting firm in Lenexa. She transitioned to the nonprofit sector to focus on the public policy tools for building decarbonization. Jennifer currently works for a national nonprofit leading their state and local policy work across the U.S.
These experiences and technical expertise provide a strong background capable of supporting WaterOne’s mission – To provide a safe, reliable, high-quality water supply with exception service and value.
